Pioneer’s residential accommodation is onsite, within a 2–3 minute walk from the Training & Education to Employment Training Centre.
We know through experience that young people who have lived through the trauma associated of being placed in residential care benefit from being placed in a single or dual occupancy home environment. For that reason, all our students live in single and dual occupancy lodges within the safe boundaries of Pioneer on the Phoenix Park site.
We know that for some young people night times and sleeping can be difficult. Our lodges are situated alongside the River Ribble, on a 70-acre natural site. Often being surrounded by nature, or by just seeing scenes within the natural world, feelings of anger, fear and stress can lessen. The natural surroundings at Phoenix Park will undoubtedly contribute to the improved physical and mental wellbeing of our students by helping to reduce blood pressure, muscle tension, heart rate, and the production of stress hormones that so many young people find hard to manage.
Each of our lodges provides a homely, warm, nurturing, comfortable, supportive environment for students and staff. Young people can also have access to a therapy dog.
