Pioneer Team

``Our lived experiences don't define us, our actions define us``

All our teachers, instructors and the wider care team are here to help our students succeed in getting those all important qualifications which will help them get a job in the future.  Our dedicated staff come from a variety of backgrounds and are committed to ensuring our students are safe and engaged.  With a varied set of qualifications across each area, we’re proud to have a group of brilliant educators teaching staff working at Pioneer TEC.

I have worked in frontline operations within children’s social care for the last 15 years holding board level positions for the last 7 years. I have extensive change management experience and have strategically supported both merger and acquisition in smaller and larger businesses. I was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care award in London in 2018 and for the UK in 2019. I also achieved my level 7 in Strategic Leadership and Management and achieved a distinction in this. I was awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award in Wales 2022, and won this nationally again in 2023. I also was awarded the Woman in Business Award 2022 and am shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement award in 2023 for my work with Children and Young People.

Our aim is simple - to inspire all our students to achieve their best through “belonging, engaging and succeeding together”. We strive for our students to achieve academic and vocational qualifications alongside success in developing their emotional resilience and managing their behaviour as they learn and grow in a safe and trusted environment.

Excellent teaching is at the heart of our success. Committed and enthusiastic teachers deliver high quality, enjoyable lessons that encourage learning.

Social Workers & family members to Pioneer TEC frequently comment upon the happy, purposeful atmosphere and the good behaviour of our students.

We believe in treating each student as a unique and valued individual and your child’s talents and abilities will be nurtured both inside and outside the classroom.
As a result, our students make on-going progress and leave us as more engaged young people with purpose, and with the knowledge; that they can develop, grow and learn within an education setting, and the wider world.

We believe this to be the result of our emphasis on high standards, a strong commitment to building good working relationships between staff and students and excellent support. We seek ways to foster a real sense of community spirit for students, parents/carers and staff. Our students thrive within this supportive safe environment.

We want our students to:

Succeed in education

Knowledge and learning can equip young people for life, regardless of the subject. We’re focused on ensuring our students succeed.

Be happy and healthy

The most important achievement for our students is to be happy and healthy. We equip them with the tools they need to become this.

Build good relationships

Learning the skills to build healthy and strong relationships help our students to grow as individuals and become well-rounded adults.

Have a safe place to stay

Have a safe place to stay - Feeling safe and secure is crucial for many of the young people that walk through our doors. The stability & structure of TEC Life enables them to feel this.
