Pioneer TEC aims to create a safe, exciting and engaging provision for SEND & EBD young people. We engage young people who need therapeutic education and work placement opportunities.
Pioneer TEC’s ultimate aim is to improve outcomes for young people post care and education to enable them to have access to full-time employment and a safe suitable place to live.
School Values
S-Safety, our site aims to keep young people safe and offer staff and activities where young people know that no matter what staff will protect them from harm. We still take part in exciting activities but we ensure that our young people are supported and educated to keep themselves and those around them safe.
C-Caring, our team know that young people may have experienced trauma, we establish relationships and trust, we adopt all the principles of therapeutic care in everything we do.
A-Achievement, our team work tirelessly to help young people reach their full potential and we celebrate success along the way. We know people grow their self esteem and self confidence when they are recognised for their achievements.
R-Resilience, life can be difficult, we help young people develop resilience through the activities they participate in, falling off a bike, capsizing a canoe and getting back up to do it again help young people develop the try, try, try again values that lead to resilience in their lives.
F-Friendships, sometimes it’s difficult for young people to form and manage their friendships, trauma can mean that people experience hypervigilance, Autism and ADHD can mean that young people often miss read social cues. We understand this and help young people to form friendships and keep them.
Our learners have;
Pioneer TEC provides quality education to engage our students into learning by using a multi-sensory tailored approach so enabling each individual to succeed whether they are less able or more gifted. All our staff are trained in SEN provision.
The programme follows a structured student journey (click here for our Education & Training pages) to enable students to progress at their own pace and to see their successes as they journey through the school.
We are aware of the difficulties in engaging reluctant students to learn. However, with our combined approach of the practical hands on with the tailored theory and reward system, we not only engage but encourage our students to go beyond their comfort zone.
